When you export a Web App using in5, it creates standard HTML5 content that works great in web browsers and can also function like an app when viewed on a mobile device. However, in5 doesn't create a native mobile app installer (like an .apk or .ipa file). If you want users to install your Web App with a single tap—without visiting a website first—you'll need to wrap your in5 content using a third-party tool.

Hi Claudia,

The parallax effect from the video tutorial was specific for a One-Page Scrolling setup in in5, so all pages would need to be vertically stacked into a single continuous scroll. If your project is using page-by-page navigation, the background won't be able to use the parallax effect because there's no long scrolling canvas for the effect to work across.

When you export your InDesign layout with in5, you can add metadata by adding a description in the SEO & Meta section of the Export HTML5 with in5 dialog (in5 > Export HTML5 with in5...). You can enter up to a 155-character description and comma-separated keywords. If you use the Auto button to the right of the Keywords field, in5 will add the most frequently used words in your document. There is a video in Keith Gilbert's Ajar Academy course, How to Create a One-Page Scrolling Website with InDesign & in5 (Premium) in chapter 4, Fine Tuning the Website on Adding a favicon, SEO, and loading bar that demonstrates how to use that section.

I'd recommend clearing any style overrides. The in5 export will take less time.

When you export with Text Rendering set to either of the HTML text options, in5 uses the Character, Paragraph, and Object Styles to create the CSS. If there are overrides, then in5 goes through a series of checks to try to "guess" what the style should be. Those guesses are what create the autoParaStyles.

Ajar Productions does not have an animated counter script.

However, as Maurice mentioned, there are many ways that you can add a number counter besides using a multistate object and slideshow:

Use an HTML widget and embed it in your layout
- in5 Web Content Interactive Widget
Create the counter in Adobe Animate or Tumult Hype, publish an OAM file, and place (File > Place...) the OAM file in your InDesign layout
- Adding Animation from Tumult Hype or Adobe Animate to an InDesign + in5 project
Add a Lottie file

Incorporate a script or CSS that you find online

It would involve listening for a couple key events to send similar events along to the xAPI, such as when the site is loaded, when the page changes (for progress and bookmarking), and completion when the last page is reached.

Currently, there isn't a short term plan to include SCORM inside in5.

Do you mean Object Styles? You can have custom style mapping using the Export Tagging within the Object Style Options dialog. That class name, along with a sanitized version of the class name will appear in the output HTML as classes and can be styled with custom CSS.

You can also target individual objects with their alt attribute.

The magnifier icon in the Viewer Display is an SVG with its path defined in the exported HTML file. Here's information on editing an SVG path:

Alternatively, depending on the content to magnify, you could group it and put it into an MSO with the original scale in the first object state and a larger version of the content in a second object state. Then instead of using the Viewer Display zoom, you could create your own button and add a Go To Next State action in the Buttons and Forms panel (Window > Interactive > Buttons and Forms) to toggle the magnification. He said that this is not something we can officially support at this time, but on his first reading of this, it seems to work on sibling relationships.

He said that with the scrolling frame, everything has to be in a parent group. So you would likely need to target the items inside the group, e.g., .scroll-vert > .group > *

There is no search function currently offered in in5. The implementation of a search feature has been on the Ajar wishlist for sometime. As with all features, we strive to introduce features that provide a useful and robust solution, so finding the proper approach to an ideal search function is an ongoing endeavor.

As far as search within an iframe, it's generally not doable. I'm not 100% sure on the WP-specific search, but due to how iframes retrieve and deliver content, I would guess that it's not possible. Even search engines tend to skip over the content on the page containing the iframe.
